Meet the Band
Musical Director: Lloyd Bartlett
Lloyd has had music in his blood from an early age. He studied the trombone at Trinity College of Music and now splits most of his time between playing and conducting. Lloyd is involved with a multitude of bands and orchestras, so his musical expertise is very much appreciated.
His sons have also been bitten by the musical bug and accompany him to different performances across the south. When it comes to boosting the basses, the Bartletts are certainly welcome indeed.
Always willing to help the community, Lloyd previously used to coach in schools for Wimborne Town Football Club.

Band Director: Laura Morgan
Laura started out on the clarinet at the age of 9. As she got older, Laura then transitioned to the saxophone to look a bit cooler. Back then, the band was called the Youth Band Peninsula Marching Band, only becoming the Christchurch Royal British Legion Band in 2007.
The position of Band Secretary has been Laura’s since 2013, and over the last 10 years she’s proven her dedication, only becoming Band Director in 2023. Her very busy role includes running and overseeing the band, from managing numbers and logistics of players, deps and gigs.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys socialising with family and friends and going on sunny holidays. She’s just started a new fitness programme too. More often than not, it’s Laura that organises a get-together for the band to socialise.
